Domestic Violence

The Madison County State's Attorney's Office is committed to pursuing justice for victims of domestic violence, in particular the scourge of violence between intimate partners, which is often particularly complex, dangerous, and difficult to prosecute.

To counter this problem, we have established the Intimate Partner Violence Task Force, comprised of dedicated Assistant State's Attorneys tasked with assisting victims of intimate partner violence. The Intimate Partner Violence Task Force receives up-to-date training on domestic violence issues and trends and networks with other agencies throughout the County to help aid them in successfully prosecuting such crimes.

If you, or someone you know, is the victim of domestic violence, contact the police department immediately. An Order of Protection is one option to help aid in the protection of victims.
